Of course there is also an extensive wine list with offerings of reds and white from around the world. Whether you choose red or white, sparkling or still, you will find all are the perfect accompaniment while lounging in our cafe, enjoying our outdoor patio, or browsing our book collection.
Our professionally trained chef, McCartney Dubois, presents an ever changing menu that includes locally sourced seasonal items.
The cheese and charcuterie boards have a reputation of their own and are generous enough to share. They are perfect for enjoying with one of our many wines or champagnes.
Our lunch/dinner offerings include gourmet paninis, fresh seasonal salads, seasonal soups, and mouthwatering pastries.

Over 10,000 books are available for purchase over two floors calling to mind a library out of Dickens or Harry Potter. Special collections include civil war & US history, art & design, award winning fiction, and classics. Peruse our display cases for rare treasures, first editions, and author autographed works.
We happily purchase used books that are in pristine condition. Please e-mail our book purveyor Thomas Wright (bpbookexchange@att.net) to discuss your collection. We offer either payment upon acceptance of books, or store credit which can be used towards food, beverages or more books! Books are viewed by appointment only.

The Gatsby Lounge
Accommodates up to 25 guests
An intimate, private space perfect for small gatherings, meetings, or clubs. The Gatsby Lounge features a cozy 1920s speakeasy vibe, making it ideal for conversations, celebrations, and low-key events with character.
The Second Story
(Includes The Gatsby Lounge + The Writer’s Room) Accommodates up to 50 guests
Ideal for office parties, receptions, and rehearsal dinners, The Second Story offers exclusive access to both The Gatsby Lounge and The Writer’s Room. Designed as a creative retreat for writers and literary enthusiasts, The Writer’s Room includes five additional seating areas with space for standing tables or catering. Together, these spaces comfortably accommodate medium-sized groups while maintaining an intimate feel.
The Bookstore
(Includes First Story Bookstore + The Second Story) Accommodates up to 80 guests
Perfect for small weddings, receptions, rehearsals, and private parties, The Full Bookstore rental includes access to both levels of the bookstore. Guests can roam and relax throughout the space, which features six couches and additional seating for more than 30 guests—creating a welcoming, social atmosphere for medium to large gatherings.
Full Venue
(Cafe + Full Bookstore) Accommodates up to 120 guests
Our largest rental option, the Whole Store provides full access to the entire bookstore along with our café area. This option includes eight additional seated dining areas and a second dedicated bar, making it an excellent choice for weddings, large parties, and receptions that call for room to celebrate, dine, and mingle.
